A painting is just colors spread onto canvas but it could tell us a story, make us feel, inspire us or just be wonderful to look at. It does all that with one fundamental ingredient and it’s not the brushstrokes, the composition or the choice of colors. It's the artistic emotion that makes a painting come to life and allows it to become something more than just the sum of its parts. I call this quality Oiled.
